About Us
The original impetus for this group came from 3 leaders in the New Energy Movement; Jeane Manning, Joel Garbon, and Sterling Allan. They all encouraged the creation of one or more chapters in the SF Bay Area during their speaking tour March 30-April 2, 2009 (see link). As a result, two bay area groups have been established, one in the North Bay and one in Silicon Valley.
The initial organizing meeting for the Silicon Valley group was held on April 26, 2009 with Ron Davis (professor SJSU), Patrick G. Bailey (President INE), and Andrew Mount (advisor for New Energy Movement) in attendance. As a result of those and further discussions, the following purpose and mission statements have been developed.
Purpose: To meet periodically and multiply our knowledge, skills, enthusiasm, and efforts for the understanding, demonstration, development and promotion of new renewable, sustainable, clean, green, environmentally friendly energy technologies.
Our Mission:
- To hold meetings to share information, view demonstrations, and discuss issues that have arisen in the new energy field;
- To create and develop a website that provides useful information for researchers and investors in new energy systems;
- To acquire, test, and write evaluations and reviews of currently available new energy devices;
- To facilitate the marketing and distribution of existing new energy devices that have passed rigorous testing procedures;
- To perform money brokering services for investors and entrepreneurs with worthy development or business plans in the new energy arena;
- To establish a New Energy Endowment Trust to generate financial resources for worthy new energy projects on an ongoing basis;
- To increase awareness and knowledge of new energy potentials and significance in the minds of the public and government officials at all levels
